Feral Hok Hands by PaleHok Feral Hok Hands by PaleHok
EDIT: Changed her structure a bit back to what it was. /shot. That is all. /edit

A few really quick sketches and scribbles to give you an idea of how her hands work c___c I imagine when she does things like drawing, she puts the pencil between her inner thumb, pressed against her inner forehoof. Or if you think more people-like, between her inner thumb and both forehooves. Or you can do all four fingers, depending on her habits because there is more than one way for a person to hold a pen OTL But I'd imagine it's pressed against the flesh and not her actual hoof, as there's no traction and it would slip around.

hmm. I love the foot design but I have trouble getting my head around the weight bearing part. It just... doesn't work in my head. mostly because of the bends in the fingers themselves. I would think she'd walk with the pad behind those big toes on the ground in addition to the hooved part.

In the original picture, I have her actually resting on her pads as well [if you can tell by the slight 'smush' effect on the pads on the left side]. I know for sure if she ran or trotted in the very bouncy way, I would put her on her pads as well just because of the weight.

I think for walking she would be fine to bear weight on them. I could make the bend less extreme and straighter, like a pastern, but that to me doesn't work. With fingers in any sense, there is going to be strain to bear weight, but I just think back to the idea of how powerful slinky hoofed legs are [like skinny deer legs holding 200 lbs or buffalo hind legs holding a ton]. Her bones would be heavy-duty and her muscles powerful, like fingers but adapted and thick to bear weight. I mean they work as fingers but are nowhere near as flimsy. I debated constantly with the pads, like the fingers bent like a dog's under their fur, but I'm not sure how I feel. I just wanted to keep it more along the hoofed line. I may go back to resting her weight on them, though, not sure :c

I adore your creativity with Hok's design.
It's so fantastic! <3 Like, these could almost be real anatomy charts for actual animals.
I love your work. <3

Thanks so much ;; <3 I was hoping to come across as believable, if such structures on an antelope existed : B
